Morgan and Jason's visit 2010-02-09 (Tuesday) 18:12 CST
We were thrilled to have a visit from my cousin, Morgan, and his partner,
Jason. They visit the U.S. every couple of years usually during the Chinese
New Year, from their home in Taipei, Taiwan. Jason told me that every time he
has visited in the past, I have a new baby. Well, not this time. I know Jason
loves babies, however, he took to Cameron and Porter so much, he was ready to
stowe them away on the plane home. One of the local sites we showed
them was Union Station. During our stroll we found a unique exhibit by a
local food charity called, Harvesters.
Local architectural companies designed displays made from canned foods all in
an effort to encourage donations for needy families in the area. Morgan and
Jason may have wanted some variation from Asian cuisine, however, we
went out to dinner at a local Japenese Steakhouse called Go Jo's. I knew
it would be exciting for the boys again and who can grow tired of rice and
seafood.
I was able to be in at least one picture with my cousin. We will miss you
Morgan
and Jason!
Crown Center ice skating 2010-02-09 (Tuesday) 17:18 CST
We knew Cam and Porter would be ready for the ice this year, but did not expect
Cam to take to the ice so readily. He really surprised us. He has a knack for
not being timid to try new things and to trust his insticts.
I had wanted to take the boys since December, but the weather had been so cold,
that we just could not bear trying to ice skate while we were freezing. We
were fortunate that finally we had a mild weekend at the end of January. We
really didn't even need our heavy coats this day.
