Aunt Rachel's visit
2006-10-30 (Monday) 14:44 CST

We spent a relaxing weekend in October with Cam and Porter's favorite aunt from Texas. Grandma B was also able to spend her birthday with all three daughters and two of her grandsons, which made her very happy.

Art at the Aboretum
2006-10-30 (Monday) 7:39 CST

Grandma and I took the boys to a local aboretum where they offered fall crafts, storytelling, music, games, and a long hayride through the countryside. Cameron had a lot of fun pointing out the silos, barns, and cattails along the hayride. We enjoyed watching Cam express his creativity with the nature crafts. Although Porter can not participate in the activities, it was a nice warm fall day to stroll him around this beautiful aboretum.

Olivia's Visit
2006-10-28 (Saturday) 14:30 CDT

Cameron's friend, Olivia, and her mom, Jana, came to visit us during their trip back to the midwest. Olivia was a weekly playmate of Cameron's from birth up until her family moved to Seattle this past spring. Cameron and Olivia had fun reconnecting, while their moms picked up where they had left off as well. It was neat to see how well they are each talking now and how much they have grown. As you can see, they are about the same heighth. We miss them already and look forward to seeing their family over the holidays.

Role Reversal
2006-10-24 (Tuesday) 14:49 CDT

I had my first full weekend back to work at the hospital this month. It was sad to leave the boys, but at the same time it was rewarding to dip into my role as a social worker and assist other families. Cameron and Porter were in great hands at home with their dad. Matt savored the opportunity to bond with his boys while the roles were reversed for a couple of days. You did a great job, Dad!

Autumn is Here
2006-10-24 (Tuesday) 14:37 CDT

It is so nice to smell the cool crisp autumn air and see the beautiful fall colors with the arrival of bright orange pumpkins and deep red mums. Cameron is having a lot of fun looking at pumpkins and realizing how heavy they are. He can not wait until we make a jack-o-lantern out of the big pumpkins he helped pick out (Cam and Porter are posing next to them at top). The second picture was taken the same day at Deanna Rose Farmstead, a fun place to visit this time of year. Cameron enjoyed feeding the goats and sheep, riding on the tractor trikes, and sliding down the big barn slide.
