Porter at 4-months
2006-09-30 (Saturday) 14:32 CDT

Porter turned 4-months on September 23. He is currently 14lbs., 5oz. and is 25" in length. According to his physician he is in the 50% for both height and weight. Porter was very eager to eat when I started feeding him cereal last week. He has had rice and barley cereal. He will start trying vegetables next week. I hope he likes them as much as the cereal, though I am not looking forward to cleaning up green and orange spit-up. He rolls over to his stomach all the time now, but can't seem to get back over to his back yet. As you can see from the pictures he is holding his head up very strong and pushing back with his arms.

Porter and Cameron are becoming good friends. Cameron enjoys hearing Porter talk back to him. Cam is also becoming more sensitive to Porter's feelings and tries to comfort him when he hears him cry. They are very lucky to have each other.

Kansas City Airshow
2006-09-30 (Saturday) 11:47 CDT

Cameron's Grandpa B. took Cam and me (Matt) to the Kansas City air show on Sep. 17. Unfortunately, my camera gave me the dreaded E18 error and I only managed to get one picture (the camera is working better now). Cameron got to sit in several airplanes and see a fast jet-powered truck. The truck fired its jets and generated huge clouds of smoke to impress the crowd, and then raced down a runway at 300+ miles per hour before deploying a parachute to decelerate. It was our favorite part of the show!

Porter's first laugh

Matt got Porter to laugh for the first time on Tuesday. He laughed for several minutes and got Cameron and me laughing, too. It was so precious.

Shelter Gardens
2006-09-07 (Thursday) 21:30 CDT

We took these pictures over Labor Day weekend at beautiful Shelter Gardens in Columbia. Cameron really enjoyed running around the garden and had trouble holding still long enough to pose for pictures. Porter, on the other hand, was very patient.

We also took Cameron for his first round of putt-putt golf. He didn't always want to play the same hole as the rest of us, but he got the ball in the hole, which is all that counts.

Labor Day weekend
2006-09-07 (Thursday) 20:15 CDT

We spent Labor Day weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We walked around the campus of our alma mater and Matt checked out one of the engineering projects he is working on. Cameron had a great time playing with Grandpa's electric train. We wish the grandparents were closer.

Porter enjoyed a bath in Grandma's sink.

Loose Park
2006-09-07 (Thursday) 19:58 CDT

Our playgroup met at Loose Park last week. It was such a beautiful day and a great way to end the summer with one last splash. Cameron had a blast at the spray park and then we fed the ducks. We will definitely do this more often now that Cam understands he can not jump in the lake with the ducks.
