The Many Faces of Cam
2007-06-29 (Friday) 12:27 CDT

It is difficult these days to take pictures of Cameron. He is either making a silly face or giving me a fake "cheese". But if I am patient and say something to make him laugh, I can capture my 3-year-old being himself. When I compare these pictures to his two-year-old pictures, it is like two different kids. Cameron has gone from being a baby to a big boy in a year. He has become an older brother, his vocabulary continues to impress me on a daily basis, and he has so much strength and coordination. Cameron rides his tricycle with ease and has practiced riding a bike. He received a kick scooter for his birthday and has already learned how to ride it. I began potty-training over Memorial Day weekend and I am happy to say that he successfully completed the process in less than a month. Cam continues to surprise and amaze us. We have our struggles and his tantrums, which makes parenting a 3-year-old more than challenging at times.
At Cam's recent doctor visit he measured 38 and a half inches in height and 33 and a half pounds. Cam is in the 75 percentile for both height and weight. Cam is dad's new golf partner. He ran his first sprint this year, so I hope I will have a running partner some day. I plan to enroll Cam is gymnastics this fall. He enjoys doing somersaults, climbs on everything, and has taught himself to hop on one foot. Cameron has started attending Sunday School for 3-5 year olds and looks forward to class each Sunday. Cameron will be attending Preschool in the fall which is offered at our church. Porter and Cameron are playing together much better, now that Porter can walk they chase each other. It is bittersweet to watch Cam morph into a handsome young boy, he no longer needs me to feed him or change him. I know my role as his mother will continue to change as we untangle ourselves and our arms stretch farther.

Cameron's Birthday
2007-06-28 (Thursday) 22:16 CDT

Cameron celebrated his 3rd birthday with his friends at Chuck E. Cheese. Cameron had been talking non-stop about his birthday for two months and was so excited to finally get to blow out his own candles. Cameron enjoyed playing games, dancing, and singing with his brother and all his friends.

Cameron received his first real set of metal golf clubs for his birthday. Cam and dad went out the first chance they had to play a 3-par Junior course. Cameron and Dad enjoy the one-on-one bonding time playing golf and enjoying the day. I hope to join them in a round and get some pictures soon.
