Trains Trains Trains
2007-12-17 (Monday) 13:38 CST
Watching trains inspires feelings of Christmas. I exposed Cameron to trains
early on. He had a Thomas the Tank Engine theme for his first birthday and his
grandfather built him a wooden train table for Christmas when he was 18 months
old. We do have lots of trains around the house. So, I guess that may explain
why Porter is so fascinated by trains now. But, we believe Porter may be more
obsessed than Cam ever was. "Train" is one of Porter's first words he has been
saying it for several months now. He is constantly pointing out trains
everywhere, plays with trains constantly when at home, and will even turn down
a book if it does not have trains on the cover. Recently, he has become
very
skilled at moving a train with several cars around the wooden track and
is able to connect pieces of track together. He gets so excited when he
hears the faint sounds of a real train heading through the city. It is very
precious and just in time for the holidays.
Trip to Grandma's
2007-12-12 (Wednesday) 22:52 CST
Over the Thanksgiving Holiday we spent a week at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was
bitter cold, so we spent most of the time indoors staying warm and eating.
Matt and I took a little getaway to Herman, MO, to stay at a bed and breakfast
and tour some of the local wineries. Cameron and Porter stayed with my parents
and Aunt Emily, and helped trim the tree in preparation for
Christmas. We thank my
parents dearly for allowing us to have a little time to ourselves every
now and then. Cam and Porter just love being spoiled by them and always
have a hard time saying goodbye.
