3 Lucky Leprechauns
2009-03-27 (Friday) 15:22 CDT

No, the third leprechaun pictured is not my own, but a close friend named, Jack. However, all three boys have Irish blood running through their viens, so we know they will all grow up to have a preference toward dark Irish ales. Jack was born about a year and a half ago to our good friend's Lindi and Duane. We have had the pleasure of watching Jack grow up, from the time he was born 8 weeks early and weighed under 3lbs. Now he is a healthy strong boy with a tint of red hair. Jack is the little baby brother to my boys. I snapped these pictures after we got back from a little St. Patrick's Day parade close to our home. Just like leprechauns, these three are always into mischeif, as you can see behind those smiling Irish eyes:)

Kidscape Adventure
2009-03-15 (Sunday) 20:13 CDT

We visited a very fun exhibit called Kidscape that is located inside the Johnson County Museum of History. There are six kid-scaled environments to explore, including city hall, bookstore, hospital, park, boutique, and theater. The theme of the exhibit is for kids to learn about community and the prospects that are available to them now and into the future. The boys enjoyed the hospital, where Cameron and his friend, Mason, performed surgery and delivered babies. The theater was a lot of fun also. It was equipped with theater seats and a big velvet drape. Cameron, Mason, and Porter played musical instruments and pretended to perform a magic show which kept my friend and me very amused. We also took a tour of the actual Kansas history museum that included artifacts from our ancestors. Porter of course had to get a picture by the train display and Cameron of course by the large rifle. This was a great way to spend a very cold February day.

My Sweethearts
2009-03-14 (Saturday) 11:23 CDT

I spent my first Valentine's Day away from my sweethearts. I had been training all winter for a marathon in Austin, TX that was held on February 15th. However, I was not prepared to leave my husband and kids. Holiday preparation is my role in the family, so I made sure dad knew exactly how to present them their gifts and candy. I love the anticipation that surrounds holidays and the traditions that we share to make our holidays unique. I know Cameron and Porter enjoyed their Valentine's Day with dad. I missed all my sweethearts greatly. Thoughts of Matt, Cameron, and Porter filled my heart and kept me going every mile to complete my third marathon.

Here are few pictures from my weekend in Austin. Matt posted a blog earlier with my stats. I did enjoy spending the weekend with my sisters, Emily and Rachel, and my mother. It is nice to have the fans at the finish line to support me as I hobbled back to the hotel. Amazingly, after a couple of hours of rest, I got out that evening and celebrated with my sisters at a local irish pub that had 80's music playing (weird), but it got me and Rachel up dancing of course.
