Spring Soccer Time!
2010-04-26 (Monday) 10:43 CDT

Cameron is playing his second season of soccer with the Rattlesnakes and awesome coaches, Tom and Matt. Cam really gets into the game and tries really hard. So, far practices have been a lot of fun and great weather. During the last practice, as Cameron improves his skills on the field, Porter wrote his name in chalk for the first time. He also asked how to write Mom and Dad. I am very proud of Cam and Porter.

Below are pictures from their second game of the season ending in the frequent score of 0-0. However, they did win their first game 3-2. Cameron does like to win and gets a little blue if they don't score, but his coaches are great at reminding them that the point of playing is to have fun. Cam has come really close to scoring and had a great assist in the first game to allow his teammate to score. Grandpa and Grandma B were able to watch thier last game this past weekend, in which they played in the rain. Although the spectators were cold and wet, the Rattlesnakes did an awesome job and did not let the weather phase them one bit. They are a tough team.

Easter 2010
2010-04-26 (Monday) 10:05 CDT

The Saturday before Easter Sunday, the boys Tye-Dyed Easter Eggs and then we went to our church for an Easter egg hunt. The church offered a hot dog lunch, Easter crafts, and then took the kids outside for the much anticipated hunt. It was a really nice day and the boys enjoyed the Easter festivities.

Last year, Porter came down with the worst stomach virus that lasted through Easter. I was very sad that he felt so bad, and also disappointed that I couldn't get the madatory Easter photo of the family on Easter Sunday. This was a tradition with my family growing up. Well, this year, Cameron and I spent 4 hours in urgent care the night before Easter, after he had ran around all day collecting Easter eggs at the church. Cam was diagnosed with strep throat and was feeling miserable. The doctor gave him a shot of penicillin in the leg, so he did feel somewhat better on Easter, but not well enough to force him into a dress shirt and tie for photos. So, passes another year without the obligatory Easter photo of the four of us dressed up on Easter Sunday. Oh well, we had a good day and the weather was beautiful. We grilled out and had Grandpa and Grandma B, Aunt Emily, and her boyfriend, Jeremy, over for lunch. We'll just have to get the pictures taken another day. Below are a few snapshots from Easter. The boys enjoyed their candy, t-shirts, and star wars figures brought by the Easter Bunny, Grandma, and mom.

St. Louis 2010
2010-04-21 (Wednesday) 22:12 CDT

During spring break, we traveled to one of our favorite family vacations, St. Louis, MO. We explored the St. Louis Science Center, which had an awesome dinosaur exhibit called "Dinasours Alive". Above is a picture of them playing with of few dinasour figures before we entered the exhibit.
The City Museum in downtown St. Louis is alway a big hit with the boys. They love all the huge slides and tunnels. Porter became a little more afraid of the dark + extreme heights this year. Next time we go, we are going to go in the daylight, it will be an all new experience.
The Magic House is a huge children's museum that we first visited last summer. This year, we let the kids guide us to what they remember liking the most. The construction site was winner.
On Sunday we had a tour of Schlafly Bottleworks before we headed home. They have an outstanding APA. Click here for more photos from our trip.
