Our PJ is 4!!!!

Dear PJ,
Dad and I have a hard time believing that it was four years ago this day that you came into our lives. Each day spent with you is a blessing. You are so patient, thoughtful, loving, and insightful. You are the perfect companion for your big brother, Cameron. You are so quick to catch on to new information, new words, and new skills. I look at you and still see my baby. So we hold you and coddle you like you were an infant, but yet you converse with us so maturely as to remind us that you are a big boy and will be starting Pre-K this fall. We want so much for you and your brother and desire for your life to be full of love, learning, peace, and passion. We know that you will stumble, but we will always be there to pick you up, dust you off, and kiss your "uh ohs" away. We are so happy to celebrate your fourth birthday today, Porter.

Earth Day with Tom Chapin

Grandma and Grandpa B went on a roadtrip with us to Manhattan, KS over Earth Day weekend to listen to one of the kids' favorite musical artists, Tom Chapin. Tom Chapin performed at the Sunset Zoo as part of their Earch Day celebration. Grandpa and Grandma used to live in Manhattan, KS before I was born, when Aunt Rachel was a little girl. The large statue pictured above stands at a local park where Aunt Rachel used to play.

KC Zoo

Cameron and Porter love going to the zoo. The Kansas City zoo is a very large zoo, so you have to be prepared for walking. This is our first trip to the Africa section of the zoo without using a stroller. This is a major milestone for the three of us. We enjoyed picnic, rode the carousel, and then took a tram ride across a big big bridge to Africa. We were very fortunate this day because the temperature was mild and we able to see a lot of animals, including the big cats; cheetah, lion, and leopard. We enjoyed a sea lion show as well.

I told the boys this was one of my favorite trips to our zoo because the weather was perfect, the visitors were sparse, and I was accompanied by the two sweetest little boys. They happily agreed with me.
